It is coming to the end of the first month of the new year and already so many things have happen for Cyan and I. Lets see first Cyan has gotten her first new hair cut. Of course I didn't cut it all off (even though she wanted more cut). I went with my friend Heather to get her oldest daughters, Rena, hair cut and I ask the stylist what she thought about Cyan's hair. Linda told me that if we cut about 2 inches off her hair will look fuller and have a bouncier curl. So I did it! Yeah, I did it and Cyan loves her new do.
So even though I know that you guys disagree with my choice I did it anyway. Cyan had been asking since last year to get her ears pierced. Every time we went to the mall we would pass Claire's or Icings and there would be some little girl getting her ears pierced. She would say to me "Mommy I want new ears", how possibly could you say no to that. Well we were at the Forum and went into Claire's to see what things were on sell and the first thing Cyan said "I want new ears pierce, please!!!" I told her that I would let her but I couldn't afford it. Heather told her if she really wanted it she would pay for it. Cyan was so excited she didn't want to hold any ones hand. So like the big girl that she is she braved the pierce like a little warrior. She cried just a little bit and the second one went without a tear. For all those who say it is wrong of me to do that look at your baby girls ears and think about it... Truly what is the difference?

In 2008 Cyan and I had lots of fun and met lots of people. Last year was the first time Cyan was invited to a birthday party and had a small one of her own. We had the opportunity to befriend our very good friends Heather and Joey! They have been the best of friends that we have had for a long time. Joey and Cyan are best friends but they act as if they were brother and sister. Constant fighting and whining is an always when we hang out. But I guess that is friendship.
Cyan got to do many fun things in 2008. Her favorite was karate. She attended Premier Martial Arts. Cyan learned discipline and self-defense. I also learned she has a hefty left and right hook. Sensi Kawanic expressed that he had never seen a little one have such a forceful punch. I don't want to be to prideful but I was very proud! Cyan worked her way to a purpler belt and had fun everyday...
In 2008 we got to visit Abilene it was great to see family, unfortunately we had come because my Dad was very sick in the hospital. That was a really hard time for everybody. Thankfully he came out with flying colors and doing great!
The year ended with us moving with my mom and Steve to a new house in Selma Texas. We spent Christmas alone here in the house. We were fortunate to have been invited to my friend Heathers house the day before to celebrate with her family. Cyan and I spent New Years alone too but I would rather it had been her and I than to not have her at all.
So whats in for 2009? Well I plan to be working and moving out into our own. Cyan will start school next fall and she is very excited. 2009 will bring stronger ties and cutting negative ones. I hope to be able to post pictures through out the year so you can see me and Cyans world through our eyes!
